More Fun in the Sun

It's been a few weeks since i've posted.  Briley is still loving the water!  Her swimming pool at Nana's house somehow ended up with a hole in it so we ended up just improvising! We put her on a towel and just squirted her with the hose.  She LOVED it.  Her favorite part of the water anyway is trying to "drink" it so she really loved the hose.  Here are a few pictures.

 

She got to ride on the lawn mower for the first time as well this weekend.  She wasl loving it!  Reagan was there, so she got to ride too! 

 

Briley still isn't 100% walking but she is getting closer and closer every day.  She still likes for us to hold her hand while she leads us around the house.  She is taking more and more steps by the day though.  I'm sure any time now she will be flying through the house. 

We also went to get her a pair of walking shoes from stride rite a few weeks ago.  Because her foot is so fat we had to get an extra-wide.  I knew her foot was chunky but I didn't think it was that big! lol  They aren't the cutest shoes in the world but she walked in these the best and they help support the ankles too.  At least we were able to get some with little flowers on them!  I will add a photo of them soon!

 

Last weekend she got to swim in her "whale" pool at Gi-Gi's house.  She was loving it.  We were out there for almost an hour, which is longer than she has ever wanted to stay out before.  She is also becoming alot more brave.  She kept standing up in the water and moving around, she even discovered she can get on her belly and kick!  It was so fun watching her play.

So Close!

As you can see Briley is getting so close to walking.  Monday she stood up several time by herself and has been doing so ever since.  She took her first few steps that night too.  It seems like the last few months we have just been waiting and waiting for her to walk but I think this time we might really be getting close!  I know she will walk when she is ready but I can't help but be excited!  She looks so adorable when she walks and its such and accomplishment for her.  She is so proud of herself when she stands up or takes a few steps.  Most of the time she will just stand there with a huge grin on her face and clap!

On another note...aren't these the cutest pj's you have ever seen?  I LOVE them!  Nana got Briley and Reagan matching ones over the weekend.  Of course my favorite part is the tutu.  They are so girly and so Briley!  She looks like she is all ready for Ballet class!  Sweetness!

Lions, and Tigers, and Bears! Oh My!

So we were finally able to go to the zoo Monday!  This is something we have been planning for a while its just been way to hot to do it!  Reagan liked it more at the beginning and ended up falling asleep the last hour we were there.  Briley loved it for the most part but she wanted to GO the whole time so we couldn't stay in one spot very long or she would start fussing.   It was very hot so we had to keep pouring water on the girls and make sure they had plenty of water to drink.  We also had to re-apply the sunscreen alot.  Of course I am very paranoid with Briley burning because she is so fair skinned.  All in all it was a very fun day and I am glad we were finally able to see the "mions"(lions)  "behas"(bears) and "bras"(zebras) that Briley has been talking about for quite some time! 

4th of July Weekend

So we had another fun weekend. Stephanie and Reagan came to town to celebrate the 4th.  Friday night we went to the park so the girls could swing and so we could do some much needed running! Needless to say we were pooped when we left. 

 

Saturday we were able to get some shopping in and then we headed over to Momaw and Papaw's house for some steaks and banana ice cream! So YUMMY!  After we returned home we let the girls take their first bath together...Briley loved it, I don't think Reagan knew what to think!  It was her 1st big girl bath!

Sunday was our 2nd 4th of July with Briley.  She is ALOT more active this year than last.  It seems like everyday is full of "1st's" for us now. 

As usual we went to church that morning and not 15 minutes into the service I am being paged to come get her...this was a 1st, as she usually loves playing with the other children.  Not today...she was so tired from the busy day before that she was in the worst mood.  So we sat on a sofa eating our snacks waiting on church to end.  Then we went to eat with my parents and grandparents.  After that, the girls were able to get a much needed nap.  Then we decided to take their pictures with the watermelon before cutting it up.  We thought they would stand up holding on to it but that wasn't the case.  Then we let them swim before eating dinner.  Once it got dark, we did some sparklers.  Briley was terrified.  Poor baby, I think she thought they were hurting her dada.  Hopefully next year she will like them more!

One Year Pictures!

We finally had Briley's one year pictures done.  I originally wanted to hold off, hoping she would start walking but she didn't, so we went ahead and had them taken.  My favorites are the white outfit and the blue smocked dress.  There were several other great shots but the only ones I can copy and paste were the ones the photographer posted on my facebook page!
